Solana priority fee calculator

This Solana priority fee calculator turns a compute unit limit and a micro-lamport price into a fee in lamports, SOL, and USD. It shows live percentiles for any account and for busy accounts, adds the base fee and an optional Jito tip, and works backward from a budget.

Reverse

Set a budget, get a price

I want to pay at most X lamports in priority fee for Y compute units.

Compute unit price to set

25,000 micro-lamports per CU

price = floor(X x 1,000,000 / Y). The fee is rounded down, so it never goes over X.

How it works

The formula

Base fee is 5,000 lamports per signature. Priority fee is the compute unit limit times the price in micro-lamports, divided by 1,000,000. The total adds both, plus any tip.

What the two percentile rows mean

Both rows come from getRecentPrioritizationFees, which reports the lowest fee that landed in each recent slot. The first row covers any account. The second covers write locks on busy accounts used by Jupiter, Raydium, Orca, and Pump.fun, where competition is higher.

Why medians are often zero

Each value is the minimum fee in a slot. In most slots some transaction lands for free, so the median across slots is often zero. For a contested account, plan with p90 or max instead.

The tip is separate

A Jito tip is a plain transfer to a tip account, paid in lamports. It is not part of the compute unit price, so the calculator adds it as its own line. See the Jito docs for how tips and bundles work.

Questions about this tool

What compute unit limit should I use?

Set it close to what your transaction uses. The fee is limit times price, so an oversized limit raises the fee for no gain. The default here is 200,000 and the cap is 1,400,000.

Why is the live price zero?

The percentiles are per-slot minimums, so many slots show zero. Zero does not mean your transaction will land. If it must land during a rush, price against the busy account row.

Is a tip better than a priority fee?

They do different jobs. The priority fee ranks your transaction in the normal scheduler. A Jito tip pays for bundle inclusion. Some flows use both, and this tool shows each cost separately.

Can I trust the percentiles for my own accounts?

They are a starting point. Fees depend on which accounts your transaction write-locks. For an estimate based on your own accounts, use an account-aware estimator such as the Helius API linked above.
